Bottom line: We only share your data with third-party services (like AI providers) to give you the features you requested. We never sell your data or use your business ideas to compete with you.

What Business Information We Store

We store the business information you put into LeanCompass:

• Your lean canvas content: Business ideas, target customers, revenue models, key metrics, and all other sections you fill out
• Your account info: Name and email when you sign in with Google
• Canvas settings: Whether your canvases are viewable or hidden
• Support messages: If you contact us for help

How We Use Your Business Information

We use your information only to provide LeanCompass features:

• Save your work: Store your canvases so they're available across your devices
• AI features: Send your canvas content to Google's AI (Gemini) when you use "Fill with AI" or "Analyze Canvas"
• Link sharing: Make your canvas accessible to others with the link when you choose "viewable"
• Support: Help you when you contact us with questions

We never: Sell your data, use your ideas for our own business, or train AI models with your confidential information.

Where Your Data Lives

Guest users: Your canvas is stored only in your browser. If you clear your browser data, it's gone forever.

Signed-in users: We store your canvases on secure servers in the United States so you can access them from any device. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices.

Your control: You can delete your account and all data anytime by contacting us. You can also export your canvases before deleting.

When We Share Your Business Information

We only share your information when necessary to provide features you use:

• Google Sign-In: When you sign in with Google, they see your name and email (standard for all Google sign-ins)
• AI Features: When you click "Fill with AI" or "Analyze Canvas," we send your business description or canvas content to Google's Gemini AI to generate suggestions
• Viewable Canvases: When you make a canvas viewable, anyone with the link can view it

Important: Google's AI processes your business information to generate responses, but according to Google's policies, they don't use this data to train their models or share it with others.

How We Protect Your Ideas

We take security seriously because we know your business ideas are valuable:

• Encrypted storage: All data is encrypted when stored on our servers
• Secure connections: All communication uses HTTPS encryption
• Access controls: Only you can see your hidden canvases
• Regular monitoring: We monitor for security issues and update our systems

While we use industry-standard security practices, no internet service can guarantee 100% security. We recommend keeping sensitive canvases hidden and being mindful of what details you include in viewable canvases.
